In the Edit Master Pages task pane, click the arrow next to the master page you want to duplicate, and then click Duplicate. Type over the rest of the text throughout the template page or document. Because this is a template, you may want to stick with generic terms, such as categories like “City” and “State” instead of the actual information. Click into the text boxes on the page - unlike Word, all of the text in Publisher is in text boxes - and highlight the placeholder text. Scroll back to the top page or first area and zoom in so you can read the included generic text. If you chose a multi-page template, such as for a brochure or newsletter, scroll through the pages to get an idea of what’s already included. Double-click the selected template to open it in the Publisher workspace.
